cultural tour part 2...

we went to lantau island as the start for our tour... lucky they are bring us here, if not i would never come all the way from my hostel to here... but then, on the bus, had to endure this stoopid tour guide's "lecture".... %^%$&$%& so irritating lor, had the cheek to mistake us as PRCs... keep insisting that she can explain in Chinese... already told her that we understand le... dun know which part of that sentence she dun understand.... #$%^$% enough on her le...

we need to climb about 260 steps inorder to reach the top wor....

was amazed that we are at very high up... the clouds are very near to us... almost as though when u reach out your hand, u would b able to touch it... *heex*

after this, we went to Tai O fishing village... looks a bit like Pulau Ubin but in an more old fashioned way... lots of shophouses selling Dou Hua at a very cheap price...

along the way, we met this uncle who sells grilled cuttlefish... he very cute! haha... in the sense that the way he processed the cuttlefish... haha... very amusing... attracted quite a bit of ppl... in the end, he had the most business...

so cute hor! haha...

then we went on to have our dinner at this place... supposed to b a seafood dinner... totally disappointing... 3/4 of the dinner is like not very seafoody, and tons of veges... not that i dun like veges.. but i was kind of expecting a more decent dinner ba after a long walk... *bleah* every1 was so disappointed! we were all waiting for this dinner... feel like being cheated...

after the dinner, we were rushed to disneyland to watch the closing fireworks... guess what? we were not on time thus missing the first part of the fireworks... we were all running like crazy ppl lor! ....
did i mentioned we had to change a lot of buses... the changing and the waiting make me feel like i am on a guided tour which i totally hate... *bleah* like little duckies being rushed here and there...

although, we missed the first part, i still managed to capture the rest of it on video... still figuring out a way to upload video... it was totally magical! i almost wanted to go to disneyland there and then... but thinking about the price, decided to KIV.. anyway, not a lot of ppl going also as most of them had been to other disneylands... so envious hor... see how lor... still gt 2 weeks more to decide...

had the whole bus to ourselves on our way back, cos every1 took the second bus and the first bus just left like this... dun know how they organised one lah... at least there are not so much restrictions on the bus... sang all the way back... hahaha... lead by our wonderful Weizhen! hehe... she is a very "powderful" singer wor! hehehe... i meant the truth, should really listen to her sing...
just as i was about to get off the bus, felt a hand stroke past my thigh... i immediately turned to look at who or what did that.... it was actually one of the tour guide... i totally freaked out!!! one of the other gals also saw what happened and also freaked out! i #$%^%$^

i just treat that the auntie was trying to get something off my thigh and i leave it at that...

been busy these few days... rushing on my report... not a easy task, when my linguistic ability had never been very strong... now, i had to read and understand a very chim piece of reading and write a report on it... how not to spend all my time on it when in one sentence, i have to check the dictionary for 5 or 6 times for the words that i dun understand.... *bleah* but anyway, i managed to survive through the ordeal and just went for some retail therapy today!

went to the adidas factory outlet at Lai Chi Kok! hehee... already gt this feeling i am so going to use my visa today... boy, am i rite! *sigh* feeling so broke liao, still need to survive here for another 2 weeks... how how how??? time to call for help le...
anyway, this buliding where the outlet is situated is a actually a wholesale mall... u can find lots of stuff here but whether they wanna sell u only one piece is entirely up to them... so even if u found something u like, u might not even get it wor... cham hor... gt a lot of shops, can fight with MongKok liao! one day is not enough to finish 1/2 of the buliding, if we were to go in to every shop... scary hor? we will never find something like that in singapore... no wonder they say hk is the shopping paradise.... hehe... mayb i should come back once in every year! then i no need to shop in singapore? hahahaha...

anyway, not all the stuff i bought is for me... bought a top for my big Kor Kor, running shorts for my Er Kor Kor and..... hey! the rest are for myself... hahaha... a cap, a top, a windbreaker type jacket, a long sleeved top... i would think that the jackets there are really worth buying... the rest is okie lah... just that u might not be able to find in singapore... the price is lower by a bit...

all of us carried a big bag out... must be too cooped up in hostel... hahaha, all the frustration let out through shopping...

hihi... been disappearing for a few days... hehe... been busy with the usual shopping, sightseeing and also lessons! i still remember i am here for the summer school... hahaha... used to the living environment here liao but sometimes will miss the food in singapore... like satay, sambal stingray... realised that the ppl here dun really like to add chilli to their meals... been having chilli withdrawal symptoms... *bleah*

this trip has been an eyeopener to me... in what sense u may ask? i guess in many aspects ba... not just about their culture, food, history, also the ppl that we had met on this trip... most importantly, i was able to understand myself better i guess... certain things happened and really made me realised certain facts that was already placed in front of me, just that in the past, i refused to accknowledge it... i meant really, as in REALLY...

time also passes very fast ard here... soon i will be back to singapore... wonder if i will miss here... haha... i sure will miss the shopping! hehe...

lyrics from this taiwan show, tokyo juliet... heard it while i was watching the latest episode yest night... sounded very sad... sigh... in one of my moods now... also don't know y... gt this feeling that i wanted to put it behind of me came rushing back... i know that sounds bad... sigh... i also dun know what to do... mayb have to stop myself lor, cos afterall, it was not going to work and i already revolved not get involved in such things le... at least for my part, not actively pursuing it le... tired sia...

anyway, if u guys are bored... hee... can go youtube to watch tokyo juliet... haha... not a bad show! haha... furthermore, the male lead is quite cute! haha... have not seen a cute guy yet in HK... that's y must resort to looking for guys online... haha...

Cultural tour...

as part of the summer study program, a cultural tour had been organised for us every weekend to bring us around HK as an attempt for us to understand HK better... therefore, yesterday we went to Fung Ying Seen Koon, a Taoism temple for a vegetarian lunch... it is a bit different from the vegetarian food that i would have in singapore... it conists of a lot of vegetables and mushrooms... all kinds of mushrooms! haha... never seen so much mushrooms b4~! it was not starchy at all as there is no mock meat... quite a refreshing change as in normal meals, meat would make up about 90% of each meal...
stayed for an hour or so, then we proceeded to the HK heritage museum... initally, it was quite boring as the first exhibtion hall that we went to was quite boring... i a bit cannot understand what is it trying to bring out...

this picture is very interesting as it consist of stuff that one would find in a supermarket like snacks, drinks, canned food etc, arranged in a colour scheme... tot it was quite pretty!

went to the next exhibition room named 4 X home...

gt lots of funnie things to take... haha

took lots of pics but not in my camera... hee... will upload when i get all of it from others...

gt one section of this room is very dark... then all the exhibits are like covered with white clothes... on a closer look, u can see faces printed on the clothes... scary... gt a very uneasy feeling once i was in the room...

proceeded on to Cantonese Opera Heritage Hall... hehe...

Causeway bay and TST

today we went to causeway bay to fix dyana's lappie... she also using ibook G4 but apparently her lappie's OS is not enough to support the sch's network... so we went to the Apple service centre to see whether they could help us with the problem... however, they were unable to do so as they only deal with hardware problems... they told us to probably buy the OS disc in order to solve the problem... however, we all felt that it was too expensive as it is only for this 6 weeks... the lappie was working fine when she was in singapore... so we told her we can always go to the lib to mug if the need arises... :)

After the checkup, we went to walk ard times square...

the buildings look so different from the ones in singapore... the bulidings mayb old, however, the shops that was ard that area were all branded...

Side track a bit, :P
went in to Coach with the gang, cos initally Audrey wanted to find whether they do carry the sneakers that she saw online the night before... we did found it, but it was only left with red colour! and it was on sale, 50% off!!! that is so cheap!! then she went to show me the bag that she liked a lot... the prices are cheaper as compared to singapore for most of the items... saw one slingback that i like alot! however, i don't know the price for it in singapore so i cannot compare... sigh...

we then proceed on to lunch in KFC... and continued our walk after it... lots of interesting stuff to see but nothing to buy...

after deciding that we had walked enough ard here, made our way to Wan Zai ferry pier...
saw this along the way... a wet market...
